Environmental Policy Statement
It is our policy and also that of our supplier partners to ensure that our activities are managed to minimise any impact we may have on the environment, so far as is reasonably practical.
In order to achieve this, our suppliers will aim to:
- Manage their product range to ensure that products do not cause unacceptable environmental damage through its receipt, storage, and use or disposal phases.
- Develop the energy efficiency of their vehicle fleet to the best of their ability. Future purchases of vehicles will take account of the environmental impact of the models selected and using the minimum number possible.
- Aim to improve the energy efficiency of their premises. Existing buildings will be adapted where practicable to improve their energy efficiency. When considering future purchases or leases, the energy efficiency of the building will be taken into account and of the energy costs involved in running those buildings.
Wherever possible they will seek to minimise waste:
- Through reduction in unnecessary consumption.
- Through purchasing recycled products and packaging for their own use.
- By sending used products and packaging to be recycled through reuse of packaging received.
Employees at new sites will be encouraged to travel to work using environmentally friendly methods such as car sharing or use of public transport where practical at all times.
